VELEIA ROMANA
It's with no doubt one of Emilia Romagna's most important archeological sites. Its a protohistoric centre probably dating back to the Age of Iron; subsequently, it became an important Roman Municipium, capital of a wide area. It was discovered in 1747, when the Tabula Alimantaria Traianea was found. Nowadays it is the object of continuous excavations.
